Access PA ILL - General

Access PA Catalog and ILL System

Access Pennsylvania is the coordinated interlibrary loan consortium of the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) and the Office of Commonwealth Libraries (OCL) and it follows the PA Interlibrary Loan Guidelines (2019) / PA Interlibrary Loan Procedures Manual (2011)

The Access PA Catalog is constantly being updated and as of May 2023, the union catalog is comprised of 7.3M titles and contains nearly 39M holdings in total, from both the union catalog and the z targets.

Currently, more than 800 public, school, academic, and special collections libraries participate in the Access Pennsylvania ILL program.

ILLiad Libraries

OCLC’s ILLiad Resource Sharing Management software (ILLiad) is utilized by some Access PA participants to communicate by transmitting interlibrary loan requests via the ISO ILL protocol. As a result, all Access PA participating libraries that use ILLiad as their primary ILL software are able to receive ILL requests from the Access PA SHAREit system directly in their ILLiad systems.

If you use the ILLiad system for ILL and would like to receive your Access PA SHAREit system requests through ILLiad, let us know!

The following Access PA participants currently receive all Access PA ill requests in ILLiad:

  • Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh
  • Chatham University
  • Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania: Bloomsburg
  • Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania: Lock Haven
  • Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania: Mansfield
  • Drexel University
