PA Photos & Documents (PaPD) is a statewide digital collections repository that utilizes the Islandora open source software as its digital asset management system (DAMS).
PaPD enables the access and discovery of digitized and born digital materials created by libraries and other cultural heritage institutions throughout Pennsylvania. The primary focus is historic, cultural, and other collections of interest to the citizens of Pennsylvania.
In cooperation with other Pennsylvania agencies, the Office of Commonwealth Libraries supports universal access to digitized and born digital historical and cultural materials. Participation in this program is open to institutions that participate in POWER Library/Access Pennsylvania or via partnerships with an institution that participates in POWER Library/Access Pennsylvania.
This project is made possible in part by Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) funds from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services and
through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Library Access funds administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Office of Commonwealth Libraries.
